Santa Cruz Skateboards historia
The brand takes its name from the city of Santa Cruz, in California (USA), located on the northern edge of Monterey Bay and also known as "the city of surfing".
It was founded by Richard Novak, and its history begins in 1973, which was a very good year for skateboarding, because skate wheels were just beginning to be manufactured with urethane, something that was a major breakthrough and helped skateboarding become very popular.
At the time, the founder had already been supplying materials for snowboards and other equipment for several years, until one day he received an order for 500 skateboards for Hawaii. They sold very quickly and he immediately received another similar order, and so the company grew into the giant it is today.
Santa Cruz Skate continues to exist to this day, making it the oldest active skateboard brand in existence today.
