Independent Trucks
Few skateboard brands have as much history as Independent Trucks Company. Founded in 1978 by Fausto Vitello with NHS (Santa Cruz, Ricta, Creature, etc...) they wanted to respond to the lack of good quality trucks in the market. Therefore, they launched the Stage 1, to compete against the two dominant brands of that time, which were Tracker and Bennett. Since then, Independent Skateboard have not stopped manufacturing skate trucks and they are, without doubt, the leading brand in the market. Through the ranks of his team, almost all skate legends have passed. One of the last to join was Tony Hawk, who, although somewhat late, finally signed for his team in 2013.
The Independent logo, the ‘Alisee Cross’, is one of the most recognized logos in the world of skateboarding. It was inspired by a photo of Pope John Paul II in which he wore that cross in his dress. Apart from its skateboard trucks, Independent Clothing and Accessories are other of its star categories.
